All student work featured below is curated from various courses I have taught, showcasing a wide range of content and form. This particular gallery shows the full length project for each sample. My intent is to give an overview exhibiting varied approaches (both conceptually and technically) to moving image content and storytelling.

1. 2D Animation, 20 Second Narrative, Adobe Animate
This short narrative introduces a Frankenstein like character who accidentally eats a fly with his cereal. He starts to hallucinate before his face melts.
2. Compositing and Digital Effects, Motion Graphics Resume Reel, Adobe After Effects
This senior student compiled his production portfolio into an engaging resume reel. Several of his projects featured are from my previous digital arts classes.
3. Preproduction, Animatic, After Effects
A trickster repeatedly outsmarts a guard in a plant.
In preproduction students write an original script they break down for production. A 3-5 minute animatic is produced for the final project. These scripts can be fixed linear narrative or for interactive content.
4. Experimental Animation, Final Project, Adobe After Effects
Eggplant Meditation is a video that accompanies a performance in which participants hold hands and where eggplant shapes glasses as they journey through Marilyn's session.
5. Preproduction, VR Animatic, Maya
Alarming things start happening in a person's apartment. Through radio and television they begin to gather clues that an apocalypse of sorts has happened while they slept.

6. Virtual Worlds, Impossible Architecture, Maya
Students built 3D environments with architecture that might be physically impossible to execute in the real world. Students were then charged with recreating these digitally fabricated spaces in the physical realm using 3D printers and a laser cutter.

Lion Girl's ox loses his eye and she sews it back on before the afternoon tea party.

Anthropomorphic cats shop for meat that consists of humans.
9. 2D Animation, 20 Second Narrative, Adobe Animate
A man chopping down a tree get an unwelcoming inhabitant stuck in his hair.
10. 2D Animation, Story Visualization, Adobe Photoshop & After Effects
Two characters argue back and forth about some needed potions.
11. Introduction to Motion Graphics, Kinetic Type & Character Animation, After Effects
In this students opinion, this is one of the greatest speeches from history (or the office).

Explainer video communicating the effects of ocean acidification in the ocean.

An old man wanders into the forest after the death of his wife.

Title sequence for a fictional television series. Green screen extraction and track mattes were required for this project.
17. Compositing and Digital Effects, State of Mind, After Effects
This travel and lifestyle video features swish pans, rotoscoped text and some pretty serene visuals from the Pacific Northwest.
18. Advanced Video Art, Final Project, Adobe Premiere
This project explored the visual textural qualities of a gun and liquid representing blood with several camera angles and shots.
19. Documentary Final Project
This short feature follows college football athletes through the NFL drafts. Viewers get to know three individual players as they train and socialize as the draft approaches.

This short feature profiles four creatives working in various media and venues. Artists talk about their inspirations, challenges within their chosen path and their need to create.
